Wow what a different perspective on going to buy a horse based on the type of person you are! Some of us know exactly what our perfect horse is going to look like when we are looking to buy a horse but rarely do we consider if it will be like us. If you haven't been in the horse world very long then considering to buy a horse that is mentally and emotionally matched to you can be quite valuable.

You may be or you may know someone who is an enthusiastic thinker. They are easy to pick out, just like when you go to buy a horse, because they generally tend to have high energy, they learn fast, are sure of themselves and can be more open-minded. But then again some people might not be so willing to play with you because you can also be bossy, over-ambitious and occasionally out-and-out naughty. Have you seen any of these behaviors when you have gone to buy a horse? It's fun to start picking these behaviors out when you go to buy a horse or even to analyze your friends. However it's not always so easy to see it in ourselves so sometimes it's best to ask friends or family that you know will be brutally honest with you. And try not to take offense to what they have to say just take it all in so that you can buy a horse that would best match you.

If it turns out that you are an enthusiastic thinker you will be looking to buy a horse with the same characteristics as you. If you buy a horse like this you will find him to always want to be going, be more willing, full of fun, clever and enthusiastic. Then of course there is always the other side, which is a horse that is mouthy, mischievous, and tends to bite and strike. However when you buy a horse make sure that you look at both sides and don't just dwell on the negative one like many people tend to do. And remember when you buy a horse these traits can be from mild to strong. Don't forget this horse is like you! He wants to be with a fast pace learner so he can learn new things and play. If you buy a horse like this he will be able to keep up with you so you don't have to slow down when all you want to do is go, go, go and move on to something else. Now this is a good thing if you are an enthusiastic thinker and buy a horse like you because you can use your creative mind to come up with interesting tasks and new lessons at the drop of a hat which others would struggle with. So why not buy a horse that's just like you so you can have your perfect partner!
