Do you like to watch magic shows? Many people do as it has a large following. There are many great illusionists out there to see. Not all of them are as good as each other but you can see a lot of great acts from most of them. Just what are some of the acts you can see? Some of the most amazing acts I have ever saw I will talk about below. Some acts just can blow your mind.

Disappearance of the Statue if Liberty

David Copperfield is known to be one of the worlds greatest illusionists. He is not some small time magic trick guy but a professional magician. His tricks are down right amazing and some of them will blow your mind. One of the biggest illusions he has done was to make the Statue of Liberty vanish. This is no small feat and the trick was really amazing. He had a live audience sit 200 feet away and then had the tower surrounded by lights. The trick was done at night. Then the curtain went up and the process began. When the curtain was lowered the statue was gone and the spotlights passed through right where the tower was to the other side as if the statue was not there.

We know that this was a trick but it was a pretty good one. Making a statue that is as large as the Statue of Liberty disappear is really amazing and not something a rookie could do.

Walking through the Great Wall of China

Did you know that the Great Wall of China is the only man made object that you can see from the moon? David Copperfield decided that he wanted to not just walk on the Great Wall of China but to walk through it. This one was pretty neat to watch. He showed the wall and then they put him in a box. The box was made of curtains so you could see his shadow. He then proceeded to walk into the wall and he came out the other side. I like these kind of tricks because it is so hard to imagine how they do it. There are many other versions of this same trick and some are even neater. Like for instance I saw some illusionist walk through a solid sheet of glass.

The Niagara Falls trick

Last but not least is the Niagara Falls trick. Over the years many people have made things to go over the falls with and try and survive. Some of the most crazy attempts have been to encase themselves in a wooden barrel and go over the falls. The problem is the barrel is not strong enough and it breaks apart and they drown. Going over the falls in anything is not wise. David Copperfield in this illusion was tied up and put in a box. The box was suspended on a raft and was then set into the river by crane. David had only 60 seconds from the point he was dropped in the river until he would go over the falls. Tied to the barge was a jet ski for his getaway.

Seeing how his hands and feet was bound it seems unlikely he would get away in 60 seconds. You watch as the falls get closer and closer until David goes over the falls. Then a few seconds later a helicopter appears and there is David hanging from a rope. How he did this trick I do not know.
There are many other great illusionists out there besides David Copperfield. If you want to have a lot of fun with your family and friends then you should go see an illusionist live. Seeing them live is a whole lot better than just watching them on TV.
